Bathroom and kitchen remodeling in Berthoud, the Garden Spot of Colorado
Berthoud grew up around the railroad that arrived in 1877, took its name from Edward L. Berthoud, who surveyed the rail route through the valley, and incorporated in 1888. Its nickname is the Garden Spot of Colorado. It sits north of the Little Thompson River, spans Larimer and Weld counties, and roughly doubled in size between 2010 and 2020, to 10,332 people, so its houses run from an old town center to new neighborhoods. US 287 was rerouted around the town in 2007.

- Leave the sink and range where they are to avoid new plumbing and gas work.
- In the bathroom, a walk-in shower in place of a tub is a common first project.
Water from Berthoud's Water Avenue
Berthoud is home to Northern Water, the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, at 220 Water Avenue, one of the partners in Fort Collins Utilities' source water protection plan for the Poudre River and Horsetooth Reservoir. Fort Collins describes the water from those sources as naturally soft. Berthoud homes may be served by a different provider, so the water hardness guide explains how to check before choosing shower glass and fixtures.
